Laura Clerici Ceramics

Born in Turin, Italy, Laura Clerici studied painting in art schools in Rome. Her pieces reflect the ancient ceramic and majolica art of her homeland. She achieves the delicate shadings of her colors by using the pigments as they were used during the Italian Renaissance. She mixes the food safe colors with water while creating her compositions. Her pieces are then fired in order to fix the colors, then glazed and fired again at approximately 2000 degrees Fahrenheit; multiple firings at this high temperature assures that the pieces are oven and dishwasher safe. Her works of art have been admired at many shows and exhibitions for the delicacy of their composition and execution. Laura Clerici's designs favor fruits, flowers, and animals and she has chosen the ancient Italian pomegranate, the Melograno, as her artistic signature. She specializes in hand painting custom pieces to order, including complete dinner services, unique wedding gifts, and distinctive articles for all occasions. Her work can be personalized with names, dates, and dedications.
